One thing I've heard from people I know who have gone on safaris is you have to go on a real one to have the best experience. Real, meaning with a backpack, a guide, and a jeep. Of course, the nature reserve kind are nice too, but they're more for day trip and you don't really get the whole wilderness of Africa vibe.
I've assembled a list of things to do on safari. I hope you enjoy them!
Wake up with the animals. Early morning is probably the best time seeing animals out and about at the waterhole or elsewhere.Yes, it requires waking up really early, but it's worth it.

Take lots of photos. Obviously, this one doesn't need much of an explanation.

Plan where your going. If you're going on a long safari trip, you should definitely go to some of these countries, famous for their abundant wildlife:
- Uganda
- Kenya
- Tanzania
- Namibia
- Zimbabwe
- Zambia
- Botswana
- South Africa

Take a ride in a hot-air balloon. A couple I know who went on honeymoon on a safari said it was the highlight of their trip. It gives an entirely different view of the wildlife and landscape.

Get a guide. This one usually goes without saying, but you should make sure your guide is either local or has lived there a really long time so they know all the best places to see wildlife.

Have fun,
