TRAVEL TUESDAYS: PACKING TIPS

I've traveled enough in my life to not remember how many times I've travelled. So today, I wanted to share some tips on packing....

/ Roll your clothing. Tightly roll any clothing piece (with the exception of evening wear/dress suits). This gives you extra packing space and minimizes wrinkles.

/ Fill up your suitcase.  Fill up your suitcase so that it is full, but not overstuffed. Lots of empty space can cause creasing in some of your clothes. I like to put a towel on the very top.

/ Always label your bags. Be sure to have a label/marker that sets your bag apart. Getting your luggage lost is something no one should have to go through.

/ Tissue paper. Place tissue paper between shirts and knitwear to keep your clothes in best shape.

/ Buy some small containers for beauty products from home. Here are some.

/ Lay anything made of silk flat on the bottom of your suitcase (one on top of the other).

/ Make a list of things you should bring ahead of time. I like to put things under categories (ex. Technology, Beauty & Toiletries, Clothes, Accessories, Shoes).

/ Wear a scarf for when you fly. They can double as blankets!

/ Plan outfits ahead of time, so you don't end up with more than you need.

/ Be prepared and check the weather report for your destination. I do this every single time I travel.

/ Pick a color palette. I mostly like to pack neutral colors (think: black, grey, beige, taupe, and white) with very few colorful pieces for an unexpected pop of color.

/ Layer, layer, layer. This is not only useful for your outfit during the time of travel, but also to come prepared for any sudden weather changes/plans.

/ Pack efficiently. Fill any bags or clutches with accessories/beauty products/toiletries, so it doubles as travel storage.

/ Bring extra plastic bags to store any dirty clothes, new souvenirs, or wet swimwear.

/ Believe it or not, but packing can be stressful. Have your luggage ready a few days before you travel and start to pack, gradually adding any new outfits, accessories, and shoes.
